This past Thursday, Project P.I.N.K and volunteers participated in Engage Detroit NOW in support of Building Bridges.

Building Bridges Detroit is an event series for young professionals that combines local taste makers, socially interesting venues and bold topics to create an environment that stimulates professional networking. Each event targets influences from every corner of Metro-Detroit and fuses them in one place to discuss vital issues in every industry, share opportunities and ignite powerful collaborations that diversify the local economic landscape.

Project P.I.N.K and its team of young professionals and entrepreneurs across Metro-Detroit come out to discuss plans, solutions and advancements in media marketing and communications, online media & technology, finance, urban development & sustainable living, fashion & beauty, travel & hospitality, sports & entertainment. It provided great networking connections and new opportunities to collaborate with like-minded individuals. Project P.I.N.K and volunteers truly enjoyed the networking atmosphere and look forward to returning in the future. For more details future events, please e-mail us at info@GoProjectPINK.org.

Resume Writing Tips for Teens!!!!

It can be hard for teens to create resumes, some think just because they have never worked that it will be almost impossible to hook in the right job. Whether you're looking to snag a job at the mall or score an acting job in a movie, you're going to need a resume for all the jobs you apply for. But what if you don't have any work experience? Don't stress, these easy tips can help:

What It Should Look Like

First impressions can be last impressions, so you want to make sure your resume stands out from the rest. This doesn't mean you should cut and paste all the words on your resume from a magazine or print it on florescent paper, but you should make it presentable. Use an easy to read font and print it out on good quality paper that can be found at Office Max, Office Depot, or Staples etc….

Contact Information

The most important thing to have on your resume is your contact information. This includes your full name, address, phone number and email address if you have one. Make sure all of your info is up-to-date because you don't want to miss a call for an interview!

Education

This is where you want to write the school you attend, grade, and level of education you have completed. If you've taken any courses outside of school like acting classes, babysitting training, or a CPR class, include those too.

Work Experience

Even if you have very limited work experience, include everything you have done. From babysitting to mowing lawns, every little bit counts! If you can't think of any work experience you have, just title this category "Experience" and list all of the volunteer work you've done in the past.

Think Outside the Box! We were born to succeed, not to fail.
